Emo Rap (often intertwined with SoundCloud Rap) is a fusion subgenre of hip-hop and alternative rock that emerged in the mid-2010s. It combines the rhythm, percussion, and sub-bass of modern trap music with the melancholic melodies, distorted guitar riffs, and raw emotional vulnerability of 1990s and 2000s emo, pop-punk, and indie rock.
